Usually, a Lockin smart lock can use the existing holes in a standard US single-cylinder deadbolt installation—but “standard” is only a starting point, not a fit guarantee. You still need to match the exact Lockin model to your door thickness, crossbore, backset, edge bore, latch faceplate, and surrounding clearance.
Lockin’s current Veno Go product page explicitly says it fits most standard US doors with no drilling required. Other Veno models also use existing deadbolt preparation when the measurements and hardware match. If your door fails one of those checks, do not enlarge a hole or force the lock into place; choose a compatible model or ask Lockin support to review the measurements and photos first.
What “without new drilling” means
For this question, no new drilling means reusing the door’s existing deadbolt preparation. It does not mean that the installation is an interior-only retrofit, that the original deadbolt remains in place, or that every lock in the Veno family fits every door.

The answer depends on which Lockin smart lock you mean.
Veno Go
Veno Go is the clearest fit for the “no new drilling” question: its current product page says it fits most standard US doors and requires no drilling. That wording still contains an important condition—“most,” not “all.” Confirm the measurements and latch shape before treating your door as compatible.

They also identify mortise and storm-door setups as exclusions for these video models.
There is a documentation boundary worth taking seriously: the linked quick-start guides depict both 38 mm and 54 mm crossbore diagrams, while the current product pages specify 54 mm for Veno Plus and Veno Pro. If your door has a 38 mm crossbore and you are considering either video model, do not assume the guide drawing overrides the product page. Their solar-light needs are a separate question from physical fit: a door can have compatible holes but still be a poor solar location. French-door installations are listed as incompatible on the current Solar product pages.

- Check the door operation. Before installing the smart lock, the existing deadbolt should extend and retract smoothly without pushing or pulling the door. A smart lock cannot correct a binding door or a misaligned strike.

When new drilling may still be the wrong answer

Will a Lockin smart lock fit a standard single-cylinder deadbolt without new drilling? Often, yes—if the existing preparation matches the exact Lockin model. Veno Go makes the most direct no-drilling claim for most standard US doors.
