I'm still waiting for my other half to come over to install this. What I'm giving you here is strictly a first impressions review based on the hardware and what's in the box.First and foremost, nothing feels that cheap to me. The back of the lock is plastic, but everything seems decent for the most part. For plastic, it seems relatively solid and well-made, and of course everything is packaged neatly. I wouldn't expect anything else.The installation kit is comprehensive:- the lock body- the strike plate- the mounting hardware- a rechargeable battery, which I didn't know at first was rechargeable, so I'm happy about that- keys- a clear quick start guide (there are three of them, two in other languages, I believe.)I just want to go back to the battery thing. It's removable and charges via USB C. Since I live in a condo with no direct sunlight in the hallway, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to take advantage of the built-in solar panel. I assumed this would have been a problem, but when I opened the box and saw that I could remove this 5,000 mAh battery and charge it separately with USB C, it makes it much more practical for my situation. I haven't tested it to see how long it lasts, how often I have to recharge it, and so forth. Of course, I obviously haven't had the opportunity either to test a phase-over recognition, the Wi-Fi features, or battery life yet, so I can't comment on real-world performance.

This is overall a fantastic home security locking system. The integration of the facial recognition makes it super handy for if you have your hands full of groceries and you want to just be able to easily and quickly unlock the door to get into the house.The facial recognition is really quite impressive. At first I found it needed just a little bit of getting used to, figuring out how far away to stand, but once you get the feel for it, it is really quite handy.I found it helpful to program a few different faces for different users, such as one with sunglasses, one with a hat, one with glasses, and I found this really increased the reliability and general functionality of the unit.It has Smart connectivity via matter integration to your various ecosystems such as Google home or Alexa, and many others. This provides you the ability to see the device with all your others.The app itself is also really fantastic, it provides the ability to have many different users with multiple codes if needed. You can also provide temporary codes or time-based codes so that for example, if you have a dog walker come to your house, you can have it so they can get in with their code within certain hours of the day. Or if you have a contractor coming, you can give them a one-time code.I like that. It also has the emergency USB-c port on the bottom so you can power it with a phone or power bank if it were to run out of power. But given the solar panel on it, it doesn't seem like you would be likely to need that. The solar panel provides such great peace of mind knowing that the lock will stay charged and that you're not going to have to fiddle with that batteries or pop out and charge battery packs on a regular basis. Life is already busy enough, this one takes the think out of your door lock.Set up for the lock was a breeze, the instructions were really clear and it was really easy to connect it to the app once everything was all installed. My only complaint would be is that there doesn't appear to be a template for drilling holes, but for the most part whenever someone is installing one of these locks, they're replacing an old one so you don't even need to put new holes in.I like that it also has a door sensor built into the strike plate so everything is neat and tidy and it knows that the door is opened. As an added little bonus, you can also attach the included magnet to your existing strike plate, and it will work just the same with the lock.Overall, I'm really happy with the quality of this product. After getting used to the facial recognition and figuring out where to stand, it just works seamlessly. Not even having to take off my sunglasses is an extra bonus.

This has been an amazing upgrade to my garage door entry. Before, I was constantly fumbling around for keys while trying to carry groceries or other items out to the car, and now the lock just recognizes my face and lets me in without me having to juggle anything. I was honestly a bit skeptical about how well the facial recognition would work, especially in different lighting, but it has performed flawlessly since I installed it, to the point where I barely even carry the physical key anymore. The auto lock feature has also turned out to be one of my favourite parts, since it locks back up on its own after I go through, so I never have to think about it.Installation took about thirty minutes total, mostly because I had to remove my existing deadbolt first. One thing I did not realize going in was that the included strike plate is actually required for the lock to know when the door is closed. My house came with a somewhat unusual strike plate already installed, and I initially wanted to keep it, but I ended up swapping in the one that came with the lock and everything worked as expected. I would recommend just planning for that from the start rather than trying to keep your existing hardware. Beyond the facial recognition, I also like that there are several other ways to get in, including a pin pad and a traditional key, and it connects easily if you are using Google Home, Alexa, or any Matter compatible ecosystem.Overall this has been a genuinely useful upgrade rather than just a gimmick, and the variety of unlock methods means you are never stuck if one of them is not available.

I ordered the Lockin Venoris solar face recognition smart lock because I have tested quite a few (dozen) smart locks over the years and currently have six installed on my home. None of them have face recognition. They all rely on codes or fingerprint sensors, which I always thought were great until I tried this lock. The idea of walking up to the door and having it unlock simply by recognizing my face was something I wanted to experience firsthand. Right from the moment I opened the box, the entire lock had a quality feel. Nothing felt cheap or flimsy. The finish, the weight, and the overall construction gave it a high-quality look and feel that stood out compared to many other locks I have installed.Installation was surprisingly easy. The lock fit into my existing deadbolt space with only a small adjustment to the strike plate area, which took a couple of minutes. The entire install took about fifteen minutes. The battery pack charged to one hundred percent quickly and I pre charged it before mounting the lock. Once installed, it connected to my Wi Fi and Bluetooth without any issues. The app recognized it immediately and guided me through the setup process smoothly. Even the solar panel is thoughtfully designed. It flips forward to reveal a hidden keyhole, which is great for emergencies or if the battery ever fully drains. The lock comes with two manual keys, and the way the panel hides the keyhole keeps the exterior clean and modern without sacrificing practicality.The app itself is simple to navigate. The main device page shows the door status, whether it is open or closed, locked or unlocked, Wi Fi connection, and battery level. There are options to enable auto lock after a set amount of time, an alarm that notifies you if the door is not fully closed, and settings that let you choose how many incorrect code attempts trigger a temporary lockout. The lock also self-calibrates the deadbolt so it knows exactly how far to extend and retract. Everything is laid out clearly and does not feel cluttered. It gives you all the control you need without overwhelming you with unnecessary menus.The face recognition feature is where this lock truly stands out. I tested it during the day, at dusk, and at night with no porch lights on. Each time it recognized me instantly and unlocked the door without hesitation. It works in low light and does not require you to stand perfectly still or position your face at a specific angle. This is incredibly convenient when carrying groceries or anything that occupies your hands. Instead of fumbling for a code or trying to get a fingerprint to register, the door simply opens. It feels natural and seamless, almost like the door already knows you are coming.What impressed me even more is how well it works for my partner. She struggles with almost every smart lock we have. I have multiple palm vein Lockin locks and wanted to try the Solar Face Lock they have all been fast and reliable, as for the Lockin Solar Face Lock I have been using it for a couple of days and I have to say, it’s one of the coolest smart home upgrades I’ve made!The facial recognition works so fast, feels almost as fast as their palm vein locks.I can walk up to the door with groceries in my hands, and it unlocks almost instantly without fumbling for keys or my phone.The solar charging feature was one of the main reasons I bought it, and so far, I haven’t had to worry about charging the battery.My front doesn’t get great sunlight during the day, but so far it seems enough to keep itself charged, there is a removable rechargeable battery if needed to charge out of the lock, I tried and you can actually charge the battery with a power bank whilst it’s installed in the lock, just have to remove the battery cover and plug in the power bank.Installation was as easy as their other locks and took around 10 mins, but once it was set up, the app was very easy to navigate, took about 2 seconds to recognize my face, I took 2 separate pictures one with glasses and one without, so far it’s not failed to recognize me.I also like having multiple ways to unlock the door — face recognition, keypad, phone app, and backup key — which gives peace of mind if one method isn’t available.I highly recommend the Lockin Solar Face Lock, if you like smart home tech and want something convenient and secure. It definitely feels like something from the future.Love it!

The quality is visible right when I see it inside the packaging box. The lock is a bit heavy, sturdy built and would surely last with good amount of entrance protection… this provides me the confidence and peace of mind needed. The whole installation was pretty much stright forward and easy, took less than 30 mins from the beginning till the end includes connecting it to our home’s wifi. The phone App does recognize the lock from the beginning, and runs pretty much straight forward with a step-by-step guide. All I need to do was to follow it closely and complete all steps required. Once it starts running, there are many features on the App that tells about the lock. This includes the current status of the door, open/close, alarm up etc. The lock also works with both passcode entry and manual key entry (the key insert hole hides right under the solar panel). The lock can also be controlled via Alexa and Google homes, which super convenient. The face recognition actually works immediately when it senses me and opens the lock up within a second. I have used it in both day time and night time, all works well!This is truly an amazing solar face recognition smart deadbolt lock to have. I love the convenience it brings to our family, and I do highly recommend!

Nothing says "welcome home" quite like a front door that unlocks instantly when it recognizes you coming up the steps.This smart lock is reasonably easy to install and set up (fortunately, as I'm not much of a handyman). I had mine up and running in roughly a half hour.Face recognition is flawless for most people. My wife and daughter don't even think about it; they just approach the door naturally and hear it chime and unlock as they reach for the doorknob.If you're taller, like me (I'm around 6'4", or 196 cm) the lock is slightly less responsive. I have programmed the lock with multiple views of my face (you can add up to five per person, which is supposed to improve the camera's ability to recognize you). It hasn't quite done the trick—I still need to bend over a bit to give the camera a good view of my face. I'm confident my technique will improve over time and I'll stop thinking about it.Facial data is stored in the lock, by the way—you're not uploading your biometrics to a random third party.You can program the lock for up to 50 people, and everyone can choose their own six-digit entry codes as backup for when the face recognition (this seems to be fairly rare).Because the lock connects to your home wifi, the Lockin Smart app provides many remote features and customizable options. You can lock and unlock your door from your phone (meaning you can also check to confirm that it's locked). You can create temporary or recurring customized entry codes—for cleaning people, say, or houseguests. You can create an audio alert if you happen to forget to lock your door. You can also choose to have your door automatically re-lock after a set number of seconds. Plus more features and options.This is a fun and convenient upgrade for our home security.

I have not permanently installed the lock yet, as I wanted to spend some time testing its functions first. One of my main concerns with any facial-recognition door lock is how well it can distinguish an actual person from an image of that person. So far, I've not been able to fool it. The facial recognition works quite well. Once my face was registered, the lock recognizes me quickly and consistently when I approach it.This is considerably more than a basic electronic door lock. Its main feature is the facial recognition system, which allows the door to be unlocked simply by recognizing an authorized person. Up to 50 users can be registered, which should be more than enough for most homes. Facial recognition is only one option, however. The lock can also be opened using a PIN, the app, a compatible voice assistant, or the included mechanical key.One feature I found particularly interesting is the built-in solar panel. The lock contains a fairly large 37Wh rechargeable battery, and the solar panel is intended to keep that battery charged from available daylight. It doesn't require a separate solar panel or wiring, and USB-C is available as a backup charging method. How well the solar charging works over the long term, particularly during our Canadian winters when daylight hours are considerably shorter, is something that will take much longer for me to evaluate.My front door faces South and the outer storm door is almost entirely glass, so the lock should receive a considerable amount of daylight. I am interested to see whether that will be enough to keep the battery charged during winter without having to use the USB-C charging connection.The lock also has Wi-Fi built in, so a separate Wi-Fi bridge isn't required. Through the Lockin app, it can be managed remotely, including controlling access, receiving notifications and creating temporary passcodes. It also supports Matter for integration with compatible smart-home systems. But these features I've not fully tested as they don't interest me. I don't use any phone apps and I don't have smart home systems.I also looked up some other information regarding temperatures. According to Lockin's official Veno Solar Face specifications, the two halves of the lock have different temperature ratings:Exterior assembly: -30°C to 70°C (-22°F to 158°F)Interior assembly: 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F)This information might help you in deciding if it will work well where you live. It's well within temperature tolerance where I live.

I’ve been using the Lockin Veno Smart Lock Go on my house for 6 months now and honestly love it. Even running on a single battery, it has been reliable, easy to set up, and the palm scanner is convenient. I’ve only had to charge the Veno Go battery once so far, but I had to carefully schedule it so my front door wouldn't be left unlocked or unusable during the long recharge time. That’s why I decided to give this new Venoris Solar model a shot, mainly for that built in solar panel on the front so I wouldn't have to worry about downtime anymore.On first impression, the lock feels really well made and durable. Personally, I’m not a big fan of black hardware, but I know that’s what everyone is doing these days. My lower door handle is brushed nickel, so there’s definitely a bit of a color clash on my white door, but the lock itself still looks nice. Installing it was pretty straightforward thanks to the manual, though having put in a few deadbolts before certainly helped. It’s the usual process: deadbolt goes into the door first, then the front panel, and finally the interior back plate. Syncing it up to the app was painless, and it’s great being able to check on both of my locks in one spot. I did have a annoying glitch at first where the app dashboard kept saying the door was unlocked when I knew the deadbolt was fully thrown, but a software update fixed that about a week later.When it comes to daily use, the solar panel does a great job trickle charging the battery, which is awesome during sunny summer days. That said, living up here in Canada, I’m a bit skeptical about how well it’s going to keep up once we hit those dark, overcast winter months.The 3D face unlock is undeniably cool and works fast, but I don’t really see it as a game changer over just waving my palm like I do on the Veno Go. If anything, it almost works too fast. It actually raised a bit of a safety concern for me: if there’s ever a situation on my front porch where I need to keep the door locked in an emergency, just looking toward the sensor triggers an instant unlock because the motion sensing is so aggressive. There’s no setting in the app to slow it down or add a delay, whereas with my Veno Go, I have to make a conscious hand gesture, which feels a lot safer in a high stress moment.A couple of other little things kept this from being a perfect score. The built in speaker sounds really muffled, like it’s buried deep inside the metal casing. Even cranked up to max volume, the voice prompts or door ajar chime isn’t very clear or loud. My old Weiser lock had a nice, crisp beep you could easily hear down the hallway. The Veno Go had this exact same quiet speaker problem, so it’s a shame they didn't upgrade it here. I’m also not crazy about the touch sensitive keypad. Touch buttons just feel sluggish compared to real physical buttons that give you that solid click feedback.At the end of the day, it’s not a bad lock at all - it’s actually really good. If you specifically need hands free facial recognition because you can't easily use your hands, this is a fantastic choice. But for everyday convenience, it doesn't feel like a massive leap over the Veno Go, and with the higher price tag, the value just isn't quite as strong.

Upgraded to the Lockin Veno Solar Face Smart Lock. Easy install (took me 20 mins), get alerts, temporary codes for guests/dog walker. It's better to scan the QR code before installation instead of reading the paper manual. It works great on my smartphone other devices for my family members. I can use face recognition, keypad, app and backup key for entry.

Don’t listen to the person with the 1 star review. This face recognition smart lock is super easy to install. It also has plenty of power to lock and unlock if you have it installed correctly which I suspect they could not do. My only complaint is that it doesn’t always recognize you coming up to the lock but that could be do to how my screen door blocks it’s view because of how it opens. You either simply touch the lock or wave your hand then it wakes up and recognizes your face. If I swapped the way my screen door opens I am sure it would work much better as I would be coming straight on at the smart lock.
