Effectively, entering and exiting in quick succession ends up being slower than with the old model.The door sensor isn't universal—it comes with a magnet meant for the door frame to detect open/closed status, but it didn't fit my door. Fortunately, they included a spare adhesive magnet strip. I recommend checking compatibility before installation.Pros: Palm vein recognition is fast, stable, and unaffected by wet hands; built-in Wi-Fi allows for convenient remote control; supports Apple Home and Alexa.Cons: You have to practice the timing of your hand movement; it goes into a deep sleep if you enter and exit quickly; the door sensor accessory might not fit. If you live in an apartment like I do, the major advantage of solar charging is lost—it won't charge at all, so you have to remove the battery and charge it via USB-C.Overall, it’s far better than my previous lock. It’s not perfect, but it solves the core pain points. Once you get used to its quirks, it’s very smooth to use daily. If you’re fed up with Bluetooth disconnections and fingerprint recognition failures, this lock is worth a try.

As a very happy and satisfied owner of the non-solar powered version, this item is one of the incremental improvements that would make an already pretty terrific product that much better. Because of the nature of the device and the location it must be installed, powering the unit is always the on top of minds when it comes to installation. There is very rarely if ever that power is brought to the deadbolt lock location on a door. In fact, even anywhere near the door in most household configurations. The rechargeable battery, while lasting for a good 3-4 months (varies depending on usage), is still inconvenient when a charge is required, usually you can manage it over night. The only alternative is to purchase a second battery for a hot swap so there is negligible down time. But being as captive market, the extra battery cost nearly half as much as a whole new lock so not exactly the best value and so far this lock is not popular enough to attract a 3rd party manufacturer to make a less expensive alternative. This solar lock should solve the problem. Should since there is no guarantee of sun light all the time. This item is packaged in a brown cardboard box with black printing and pictorials of the lock in outline form. A white FBA product identification barcode sticker label is affixed to the front. While it mentioned Matter compatibility, hopefully this one is improved over the previous with a few more months of technology maturation as the previous palm smart lock did not successfully connect onto my Matter network. It works over WiFi with it’s own app, just not the rest of the Matter home automation as it fails to connect. I am hoping this one is better and will come back to update if otherwise. Until then, this is definitely a five star product. The palm unlock is life changing, that it support 6+ people is 6x life changing. We never need a key anymore. Just close the door and it will announce if it successfully engaged the lock. Or it will warn you that the door is unlocked. Once the lock is fully engaged, it is ready to be unlocked via multiple means, smart phone, pin pad with obfuscation (you can punch a random serious of numbers and as long as the actual correct sequence is somewhere in there, the door unlocks), it will also unlock via thumb print but the best feature is the palm scan. And with a wave of a hand the door unlocks, how cool is that? And hopefully with enough sunlight, the battery will need recharging even less often, never under ideal situation.

I have had their larger $200 unit on my front door since it came out and have had 0 problems, however, I installed this new solar one around July 25 on my rear door and it didn't even last a full week before the palm scanning stopped working.I unpaired it from the app and have wasted more than 8 hours over the last week trying to pair it again without success. The support team, though polite, has not been any help and seems to talk in circles.Now I understand why most of the reviews are from people who got it for free, don't waste your time, buy the more expensive one.I don't even think that I can return it or replace it since I threw out the box. If you buy it, keep the box for a month.

This palm reader is almost perfect. It installs easily enough and works very quickly to lock and unlock reading your palm veins very quickly as advertised. My wife loves it too. My only complaint is that it is always checking for your palm vein when you pass by it with the door open. I don’t understand why they don’t use the built in magnet to tell it to only check when the door is closed as it uses this same magnet to know when to automatically lock when you close the door. This checking all the time with an open door kills the battery. You can disable this checking completely but then you have to touch the lock to wake it up to check for your palm vein. If they fix this it would be 5 start for me.

I did a lot of research and this hits all the right necessities. Palm vein is the way to go. Quick, easy, and more secure than facial recognition. Battery was a worry, thinking it'd be yet another chore but solar keeping it topped up is the gold standard. It was easy to set up and the app worked flawlessly. This lock should be at the top of everyone's list.This would be the perfect lock of it had a higher security rating and no key hole to prevent picking. Physical keys are the biggest weakness.

This is amazing technology much better than fingerprint in my opinion. Connecting to Alexa was easy. Had a couple of problems with setup nothing major but customer service is superb and guided me through it. Would highly recommend.
