Veno Pro Solar Panel Stopped Charging After a Battery Swap: What to Check

Veno Pro solar panel stopped charging after a battery swap? Check the battery, Type-C panel connection, app status, sunlight, 70% threshold, and 24-hour recovery guidance.

If your Lockin Veno Pro’s separate solar panel stopped charging after you removed and reinstalled the rechargeable battery, first make sure the battery is seated, the panel is connected to the lock’s exterior Type-C port, and the lock is online in the Lockin Smart App. Then check the battery status in Device → Settings while the panel is receiving useful direct sunlight.

Lockin’s Veno Pro FAQ says that removing the battery during solar charging can interrupt charging. The FAQ says normal charging should return within 24 hours, or sooner after you unplug and reconnect the solar panel’s Type-C cable. It also says the panel charges the battery only when the battery level is below 70%.

Veno Pro solar panel stopped charging after battery removal? Start here

Use this short sequence before changing settings or resetting the lock:

  1. Confirm that you have a Veno Pro with the separately connected, Veno Pro-compatible solar panel. Do not apply this procedure to Lockin Veno Solar Palm or Veno Solar Face models, which use a different integrated solar design.
  2. Confirm that the rechargeable battery is installed correctly and that the lock still has backup power. Keep a mechanical key or suitable power-bank option available while you test.
  3. Inspect the solar panel cable at the lock. It should be firmly connected to the exterior assembly through the Type-C port.
  4. Check the panel in useful light. Lockin recommends direct sunlight on the lock around midday for this check; shade, weather, and the panel’s angle can reduce available charging power.
  5. Open the Lockin Smart App and check Device → Settings. The lock must be connected to the app, and the FAQ calls for a stable Wi-Fi connection so that you can see the charging status.

If the battery is already at or above 70%, a lack of visible solar charging may be expected: the FAQ says the panel charges only below that level.

What to do after the battery was removed

If the charging problem began immediately after the battery was taken out, use the documented recovery path:

1. Stop testing by removing the battery again

Leave the battery installed. The Veno Pro FAQ specifically warns that removing the battery during solar charging may prevent the battery from charging. Removing it repeatedly can also reduce your available backup access while you are diagnosing the panel.

2. Reseat the panel connection

With the battery installed, unplug the solar panel’s Type-C cable from the Veno Pro exterior assembly and reconnect it firmly. Check that the connector is fully inserted and that the cable is not under tension or visibly damaged.

3. Allow the recovery window

According to Lockin’s FAQ, solar charging can return to normal within 24 hours after the battery-removal interruption. If you do not want to wait, the same FAQ says you can unplug and reconnect the solar panel’s Type-C charging cable to restore normal charging.

This is manufacturer guidance, not a promise that every cable, panel, battery, or installation issue will resolve. Keep another entry method available until you confirm the battery level is changing.

4. Verify charging in the app

Check the battery status in Device → Settings after reconnecting the panel and placing the lock in useful direct sunlight. Look for the charging indication and confirm that the battery percentage changes over time. A single status check is not enough to prove that charging is stable.

If the Veno Pro still shows no solar charging

Work through these conditions in order:

Check What to confirm Why it matters
Model The lock is Veno Pro, not Veno Solar Palm or Veno Solar Face The external-panel instructions are model-specific
Battery The rechargeable battery is installed and the lock remains powered Removing the battery can interrupt solar charging
Cable The panel is connected to the exterior Type-C port A loose connection prevents the lock from seeing the accessory
Light The panel receives useful direct sunlight, especially around midday The FAQ recommends direct sunlight for confirming charging
App and Wi-Fi The lock is connected to the Lockin Smart App and Wi-Fi is stable The charging state is checked in the app
Battery level The battery is below 70% The panel is documented to charge only below this threshold
Time You allowed the documented 24-hour recovery window or reconnected the cable Charging may be interrupted after battery removal

Do not transfer the Veno Pro’s external-panel instructions to an integrated Solar Palm or Solar Face model, and do not assume that a panel will charge continuously at every battery percentage, light level, or cable condition.

When to contact Lockin

Contact Lockin support if the Veno Pro remains connected to the app, the panel is correctly connected, the battery is below 70%, the panel has useful direct sunlight, and charging still does not appear after the recovery steps. Include:

  • The exact lock model: Veno Pro
  • Whether the issue began immediately after battery removal
  • The battery percentage shown in the app
  • Whether the Type-C cable was unplugged and reconnected
  • The light conditions during the check
  • Any visible cable, port, or battery damage

Lockin lists support@lockin.com for customer assistance. Keep a working mechanical key or emergency power option available until the issue is resolved.

The practical answer

When a Lockin Veno Pro solar panel is not charging after battery removal, reinstall the battery, reconnect the external panel to the exterior Type-C port, confirm the lock and Wi-Fi are online in the app, and check below the documented 70% threshold in useful direct sunlight. Lockin says the interruption should return to normal within 24 hours, or after unplugging and reconnecting the panel cable. If the documented checks do not restore charging, contact Lockin support rather than repeatedly removing the battery or resetting the lock.
