If you want to show a relative one specific doorstep moment, use this Lockin Veno Pro share screenshot workflow: share a still image—not a Home Management invitation. Open the authorized Veno Pro camera view or event record, capture the frame with your phone, inspect the image for private details, and send it through the ordinary photo-sharing channel you already use. Keep the recipient outside the Lockin home-management account unless they genuinely need lock-management access.
The distinction matters: a screenshot shares what is visible in that moment; a Home Management invitation is an access-control decision. Use the first for a quick update about a visitor or package. Use the second only when someone needs an approved role in the household’s lock setup.
What a Lockin Veno Pro share should contain
Veno Pro combines a LockinCam™ 2K camera with a 180° view, local video storage, and detection for people, packages, and vehicles. The product page also lists a two-way video doorbell and 32 GB of local storage. These features make a saved event or displayed camera frame useful for a family update, but they do not turn every saved frame into a verified security record or guarantee that every app surface supports the same capture action.
For this use case, the useful handoff is:
| You want to show | Share | Do not share by default |
|---|---|---|
| Who or what appeared at the door | The selected still image | Lock control or a household admin invitation |
| Where a package was left | A frame that includes the relevant doorstep area | Your Lockin account credentials |
| When the event happened | The visible event context or timestamp, if shown | A claim that the image proves identity or authenticity |
Step 1: Open the authorized Veno Pro view or event
Use the Lockin Smart App and an account that is already authorized to view the Veno Pro. Open the live camera view or the relevant event record. The Veno Pro FAQ discusses viewing angles and screenshots/recordings, and its support guidance distinguishes the live preview from the full saved view.
If the event is important, first confirm that you are looking at the saved event you intended to show—not a different live moment. A live preview can have different framing from a saved image, especially when the camera angle or crop has changed.
Step 2: Capture the frame on your phone
On an iPhone with Face ID, press and quickly release the side button and the volume-up button together. On an iPhone with a Home button, press and quickly release the side button and Home button together. The screenshot is saved in Photos, where you can review and share it.
If your phone, Lockin app version, or operating system presents a different control, use the current instructions for that device. Do not assume that a screenshot captures a complete video clip or every protected app surface.
Step 3: Confirm that the intended frame is actually there
Open the screenshot in Photos and check it before sending. Look for:
- The person, package, or doorway area you meant to show.
- Enough context to explain what the relative is seeing.
- The visible time or event label, if that context is useful.
- Cropping that does not cut off the relevant subject.
- Reflections, house numbers, faces, license plates, notifications, or other information you do not intend to share.
If the screenshot missed the intended frame, return to the Veno Pro view or event record and capture it again. Do not describe an unverified screenshot as the complete source recording.
Step 4: Share only the still image
Use Messages, Mail, or another ordinary photo-sharing channel. Add a short explanation such as “This is the package at 2:14 PM” so the image has useful context. If the image includes sensitive information, crop or mark it up before sending, and keep the unedited original for yourself when you may need to compare the edit later.
The relative does not need Lockin home-management access to receive a photo attachment. They also do not need your Lockin password. If you later decide they should unlock the door, monitor the lock, or manage household access, handle that as a separate access decision and follow the current Veno Pro manual and Lockin Smart App workflow.
Why a Home Management invitation is the wrong shortcut
The Veno Pro manual describes Home Management as a family co-management area with broad lock privileges. That is designed for people who need an ongoing role in the lock—not for someone who only needs to see one doorstep image.
An invitation can create more access than the situation requires. Before inviting anyone, ask:
- Do they need to unlock or lock the door?
- Do they need ongoing visibility into events?
- Do they need to manage household members or device settings?
- Is a one-time photo enough?
If the answer is “no” to the first three questions, send the reviewed screenshot instead.
Privacy and reliability limits to keep in mind
Veno Pro’s product page says that biometric and video object-detection algorithms run locally and that data is stored on-device. That describes the lock’s processing and storage claims; it does not make a screenshot private after you send it. Once a still image leaves your phone, the recipient’s device, cloud backup, and messaging settings may affect who can access it.
Also keep these boundaries clear:
- A screenshot is a copy of displayed content, not the original video file.
- A visible timestamp can provide context, but it does not by itself prove when or how an image was captured.
- Camera framing, app version, firmware, and saved-event behavior can vary; use the current Veno Pro support material for the exact workflow.
- Do not extend Veno Pro camera behavior to other Lockin models without checking that model’s documentation.
- If you need a person to have lock access, use the documented account and permission workflow instead of sending credentials.
The short decision rule
Share a screenshot when the relative only needs to see one doorstep moment. Use Home Management only when the relative needs a real, ongoing lock role. Review the frame first, remove unnecessary private details, and do not promise more than the screenshot actually shows.
