Lockin Veno Pro Storage Full: What Happens to Older Recordings?

Veno Pro storage full? Learn what happens to older recordings, how auto-overwrite works, and how to delete selected videos safely in the Lockin Smart App.

If your Lockin Veno Pro storage is full, new recordings overwrite the oldest files. That is the documented full-storage behavior for the lock’s built-in 32 GB storage. If a recording matters, protect it before capacity is reached—or delete recordings deliberately in the Lockin Smart App rather than assuming an older clip will remain available.

What happens when Lockin Veno Pro storage is full?

The Veno Pro uses built-in local storage for video recordings. Lockin’s Veno Pro FAQ says that, when the 32 GB storage is full, the system uses automatic overwrite: the oldest files are replaced by new recordings.

That means a full storage warning is also a reminder to review evidence you may need later. The lock does not preserve every old recording indefinitely once new recordings continue to arrive.

The Veno Pro product page documents 32 GB of local video storage and a 2K, 180° camera. The FAQ gives an approximate retention estimate of up to about one year under standard resolution and Lockin’s internal evaluation model. Treat that as an estimate, not a guaranteed household retention period: recording length, motion activity, selected camera mode, and other settings affect how quickly storage is used.

How to clear Veno Pro recordings

Lockin’s documented cleanup path is:

  1. Open the Lockin Smart App.
  2. Open Events.
  3. Tap the folder icon in the upper-right corner.
  4. Select videos to delete, or choose the option to clear all data.

Use the smallest cleanup action that solves the problem. Delete clips you no longer need instead of clearing all data when you are trying to keep a few important recordings.

Before deleting anything, check the event date, event type, and clip content. If a clip may be needed for a delivery dispute, property issue, insurance conversation, or another household record, save or otherwise protect it using a control that is actually available in your current app version. The official FAQ documents deletion and clearing, but it does not establish one universal export workflow for every app version. If you cannot protect an important clip, contact Lockin support before clearing storage.

Important: Do not use “clear all data” as a routine troubleshooting step. Confirm what the control removes on your current app screen and make sure every authorized household user agrees before using it.

Does a full storage drive the lock to stop working?

The documented answer concerns video files: when new recordings are created, the oldest stored files are overwritten. It does not say that a full video store disables the Veno Pro’s basic door-entry methods.

Keep the functions separate:

  • Door access: Veno Pro supports palm-vein recognition, fingerprint, PIN, mechanical key, and app control as documented on the product page.
  • Video storage: recordings use the device’s local 32 GB capacity and follow the overwrite behavior above.
  • Notifications and recording: turning off a notification is not the same as deleting a recording. The Veno Pro manual says that disabling push notifications for an event does not affect its recording in the Events log.
  • Connectivity: remote viewing, app controls, and notifications can depend on the lock’s network connection even though video is stored locally. Local storage should not be treated as proof that every app or remote feature works offline.

If the lock is not recording as expected, check the current motion-detection, mode, and Power Manager settings in the app. The manual describes modes that can change when motion recording occurs—for example, an optimal-battery setting may record only when the doorbell is pressed, while surveillance-oriented settings allow longer motion-triggered recordings. These settings affect what gets recorded and therefore how quickly the storage fills.

How to reduce future storage pressure

Choose a recording approach that matches your doorway instead of maximizing every setting:

Review motion detection

In the Lockin Smart App, review the Veno Pro’s motion-detection switch, range, sensitivity, detection type, and zones. Narrowing activity to the part of the entry you actually need can reduce unnecessary events.

Check Mode Settings

The Veno Pro manual describes Mode Settings for controlling motion detection, motion alerts, and remote camera live view in different situations. Review the home/away or other modes you use so the lock is not recording more activity than your household needs.

Use Power Manager intentionally

The manual lists four Power Manager approaches: Optimal Battery Life, Balanced Surveillance, Optimal Surveillance, and Custom Mode. Custom Mode can adjust the maximum recording duration, intervals between events, and active periods for motion detection. A shorter event window or a sensible interval may reduce storage use, but it can also capture less of an event. Make that tradeoff consciously.

Schedule a review habit

Storage is easier to manage when you review important clips before they become the oldest files. A monthly check of the Events list is a practical starting point, but the right interval depends on traffic at your door and the recording settings you selected.

The safe decision when Veno Pro storage is full

If the Lockin Veno Pro storage is full, expect the oldest recordings to be overwritten as new recordings arrive. Protect any needed evidence first, then use Lockin Smart App → Events → folder icon to delete selected videos or clear all data with owner authorization. Do not rely on the approximate one-year estimate as a promise, and do not assume changing notifications alone will free storage.

For model-specific setup and supported controls, check the Veno Pro product page, the Lockin user manual page, and the Lockin FAQ.
