If Lockin Veno Pro clips end too soon or a second visitor is missing, check two settings together in Lockin Smart App → Devices → your Veno Pro → Settings → Power Manager: the maximum recording duration and the interval between events. For a busy doorway, start with Optimal Surveillance or use Custom Mode to lengthen the clip and shorten the event interval, then run a consecutive-visitor test. Longer clips and shorter intervals improve the chance of seeing the next event, but they can use more battery and still do not guarantee that every motion event will be recorded.
What the four recording modes do
Veno Pro’s Power Manager offers four approaches. The right choice depends on whether your first priority is battery life, a balanced record, or more complete coverage at the door.

The manual describes the function of Custom Mode but does not publish one universal list of selectable duration and interval values. The choices shown in your current app or firmware are the values to use for your lock.
Why clip length and event interval are one decision
These controls solve different parts of the same coverage problem:
- Maximum recording duration determines how long one triggered clip can continue. A short maximum can stop recording while a person is still at the door.
- Interval between events determines how soon the system can begin another motion-triggered recording. A long interval can leave a gap between a first visitor and a second visitor.
- Active periods in Custom Mode determine when motion detection is allowed to operate. If the needed time window is inactive, changing clip length will not restore the missing event.
For example, a delivery person may approach, set down a package, and leave while another person arrives shortly afterward. A longer first clip may show the complete delivery, but it does not automatically remove the gap before the next event. The interval matters too.
A safe way to tune Custom Mode
- Open Power Manager and note the current mode and values before changing anything.
- Confirm that Motion Detection is enabled under Settings → Motion Detection. Check the detection range, sensitivity, type, and any detection zones as well. The manual notes that motion detection is not active while the door is open.
- In Custom Mode, choose the longest clip duration that is useful for the activity you want to observe. Do not assume that the maximum is always the best daily setting.
- Choose a shorter event interval if consecutive visitors, deliveries, or package pickup are the main concern. Keep the active period wide enough to cover the real arrival window.
- Save the setting, then test it with two or three controlled passes at the doorway. Use a consistent route and pause between passes so you can tell whether the second event is recorded or falls inside the interval gap.
- Review the event record in the Lockin Smart App. If the result is incomplete, adjust one variable at a time: first the maximum duration, then the interval, then motion range or sensitivity.
This test is more useful than judging the setting from one clip. It shows how your doorway, lighting, visitor speed, detection zone, and current app version interact.
If the next event is still missing
Check the surrounding conditions before assuming the camera has failed:
- The active period may exclude the event. Recheck the schedule in Custom Mode.
- Motion may not have triggered. Recheck range, sensitivity, detection type, and zones.
- The door may have been open. The manual says motion detection is not active when the door is open.
- You may be looking only at notifications. A notification preference is separate from recording. The manual says turning off push notifications for an event does not remove its Events record or video.
- Battery use may have changed. More recording and more surveillance can consume more power. Veno Pro is rated for up to three months of battery life under the manufacturer’s stated conditions, but actual life depends on activity and settings. Keep low-battery alerts enabled and maintain the mechanical key or power-bank backup described on the product page.
- The app may not match this manual. If a setting is absent or named differently, use the controls currently shown for your Veno Pro and check the current Lockin user-manual library before relying on an older instruction.
A practical starting point
For a typical front door, Balanced Surveillance is a reasonable starting point. If a short clip is clearly cutting off an arrival, try Optimal Surveillance or Custom Mode with a longer maximum duration. If the missing information is the next visitor rather than the end of the first clip, focus on the event interval as well. After changing both, repeat the same controlled test and watch battery behavior for several days.
