Lockin Veno Pro Camera Timestamp: What Does the Watermark Tell You?

The Lockin Veno Pro camera timestamp adds time context to the camera view. In the Lockin Smart App, Veno Pro’s Camera Settings includes a watermark on/off setting with a timestamp. Turn it on if you want that visible time reference, then review a recent event whose time you know. The label helps you interpret doorstep activity; by itself, it does not confirm a visitor’s identity or guarantee that the displayed clock is correct.

The setting is documented in the Veno Pro user manual, Camera Settings section. These instructions apply to Veno Pro; use the current Lockin user manual for your exact model.

What does the Veno Pro video watermark tell you?

A timestamp gives you a visible time reference alongside what the camera shows. That can help when you are trying to distinguish one visit from another or compare footage with a household member’s recollection.

Keep three different questions separate:

What you want to know What to check What that can establish
What happened in view of the door? The actual camera footage The activity visible in that footage, within the camera’s view
What time does the camera display? The watermark, checked against a recent known-time event The displayed time and whether it agrees with that reference event
Was there a recorded lock action? The relevant lock-event history entry The access information the app records for that entry

For Lockin Veno Pro, the practical benefit is being able to review the doorstep scene and the lock’s access records together. A person appearing near the door does not, on its own, establish that they unlocked it.

How to check the Lockin Veno Pro camera timestamp setting

The Veno Pro manual gives this route:

  1. Open the Lockin Smart App.
  2. Go to Devices and select your Veno Pro lock.
  3. Open Settings, then Camera Settings.
  4. Find the watermark setting and choose on or off.

The manual describes the option as “watermark on/off (with timestamp).” It does not show the exact appearance of the switch in every app version. If your screen differs, consult the current manual or Lockin support rather than looking for an assumed menu name.

Choose on when the visible time reference helps with event review. Choose off when you prefer the view without that watermark. This setting is described as a display option; do not use it as a substitute for checking your recording settings.

Check one event whose time you know

After choosing the setting, use a simple household check:

  1. Note the current date and local time from a clock you trust, including the time zone.
  2. Make a brief, recognizable visit to your own door, such as a doorbell press, while your normal event recording is enabled.
  3. Find the resulting event in the app, if it was recorded, and check the time information actually displayed.
  4. Compare it with your note. If there is a difference, write down both times and the size of the difference.

For example, if you noted a visit at 3:10 p.m. but the label shows 2:10 p.m., record that one-hour difference. It is a useful observation for support, not a diagnosis of its cause. This is an example, not a reported Veno Pro fault.

Check a new event after changing the watermark setting. The manual does not establish whether the change affects older recordings or whether a saved copy retains the label. If you already have a saved copy, open it separately and inspect what is present.

What if the displayed time looks wrong?

First, confirm that you opened the event you intended to review. Then keep a short note of the expected time, displayed time, event date, and relevant time zone. Include your Lockin Smart App version and the device firmware version when contacting support.

Use the current Lockin FAQ and support guidance or email support@lockin.com. Ask for the correction procedure for your Veno Pro and app version. The documented watermark control is not a documented clock-setting or timezone-setting control, so toggling it should not be treated as a clock repair.

If you also need to understand a lock action, the manual directs you to Events → Review Lock Event History, where you can filter by date range and event type. Compare the relevant entry with the footage; matching times alone do not prove who a visible visitor is. For the broader distinction, see smart-lock activity logs versus real-time alerts.

Start with your Lockin Veno Pro camera timestamp setting and one recent, known-time event. Keep the watermark on if it makes review easier, and resolve any unexplained time difference with Lockin support before relying on that label to reconstruct an event.
