If your Lockin Veno Pro camera is offline while remote unlock still works, check the Lockin Smart App and lock firmware, the lock’s 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection, and the active live-view setting. Fully close and reopen the app. If camera access still fails after those checks, contact support@lockin.com—Lockin’s camera connection FAQ specifically directs this situation to support.
A successful lock command confirms that command worked. It does not confirm that live video is available or identify why it failed. Treat lock control and camera viewing as two separate results when troubleshooting.
Confirm what is actually failing
Start in the Lockin Smart App with your Veno Pro selected. If the successful command came from another smart-home app, note that distinction; this guide addresses camera access in Lockin’s app.
| What you observe | What to check next |
|---|---|
| A fresh remote command succeeds, but live view will not open | Follow the camera checks below and record the exact error. |
| Both remote control and live view fail | Investigate the broader connection or power problem; the camera-only symptom no longer applies. |
| Live view opens, but motion recordings or alerts are missing | Review recording and notification settings separately. A missing alert is not the same as an unavailable live view. |
| The app shows an old image or status | Note its timestamp. An earlier result does not confirm the current connection. |
Use an already observed successful command where possible. Avoid repeatedly unlocking an unattended door just to test video.
Lockin Veno Pro camera offline: start with these checks
Lockin’s official FAQ gives four camera-connection checks:
- Update the app and firmware. Check for the latest Lockin Smart App release and an available lock firmware update. Follow the update instructions shown; if device settings will not load, note that for support.
- Confirm stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi at the lock. The FAQ says 5 GHz is not supported. Check which network the lock uses, especially after a router or network-name change.
- Check home-network bandwidth. Lockin specifies at least 40 Mbps. The FAQ does not identify this as an upload or download threshold or give a measurement method. Record your result and ask support how to interpret it if needed; do not assume a faster internet plan will fix the camera.
- Restart the app completely. Close it, including its background process, then relaunch and try live view again.
Make one change at a time so you can tell which action changed the result. If you need help identifying the connection involved, see the smart-lock Wi-Fi setup and remote-access guide.
Check whether the active mode allows live view
The Veno Pro user manual documents this path:
Lockin Smart App → Devices → select your lock → Settings → Mode Settings
Each mode can control motion recording, motion alerts, and remote camera live view. Check the currently active mode and whether live view is enabled. If you use automatic mode switching, check whether the problem coincides with arriving home or leaving.
Enable live view if that matches your intended privacy setting, then retry. A disabled setting is a reason to review the configuration; it is not proof of a hardware fault.
The same manual says Optimal Battery Life, under Power Manager, limits recording to doorbell presses while keeping remote camera viewing available. Do not assume that this mode alone explains a failed live view. Recording behavior and live-view availability are different settings to inspect.
If your app labels differ or a setting cannot be reached, record what you see rather than searching for an undocumented reset procedure.
If it persists, send support a clear record
At this point, stop making unrelated changes. A concise record helps support understand the split without asking you to repeat every check.
| Include | Your notes |
|---|---|
| Device and phone | Veno Pro; phone model and operating-system version |
| Software | App version, firmware version if accessible, and any update error |
| Failure | Exact camera message or screenshot, with date, time, and time zone |
| Working function | Which app completed the remote command and when |
| Network | Lock’s Wi-Fi band, recent router changes, and any bandwidth test result |
| Mode | Active mode, live-view setting, and whether automatic switching is used |
| Checks completed | What you changed and the result after each change |
Send relevant screenshots without passwords, access PINs, or unnecessary private footage. A useful opening is: “My Veno Pro accepts remote lock commands in the Lockin Smart App, but live view shows [message]. The problem started [time], and I have completed [checks].”
Two common questions
Do I need a subscription to restore camera access?
Do not buy a subscription as a troubleshooting step. The current Veno Pro product page advertises its core features and local video storage without a monthly fee. That does not make remote viewing an offline function, and it does not establish why your connection failed.
Should I factory-reset the lock first?
Start with the checks above. Preserve your settings and error details, and ask support whether a reset is appropriate for your case before removing the device or starting over.
If your Lockin Veno Pro camera remains offline, send the completed record to Lockin support. The next useful step is a diagnosis of the persistent camera failure, with the working lock-control result clearly documented.
