If an iPhone Focus is silencing Lockin doorbell alerts, use two settings together: first select the Doorbell event in the Veno Pro’s Rich Notification settings, then allow the Lockin Smart app in the specific iPhone Focus profile you use. Finally, test the physical doorbell while that Focus is active.
This works for Focus profiles that let you choose allowed apps, such as Do Not Disturb, Personal, Sleep, or Work. Apple’s Driving Focus does not allow app exceptions, so the same workaround is not available there.
1. Confirm the Lockin doorbell event is enabled
The iPhone can only deliver a notification that the Lockin Smart app is configured to send. On a Veno Pro:
- Open the Lockin Smart app.
- Go to Devices and select your Veno Pro.
- Open Settings → Rich Notification.
- Make sure Doorbell is selected.
The Veno Pro manual lists Doorbell alongside lock/unlock, door-ajar, and abnormal events as notification categories. It also says that turning off push notifications for an event does not remove the corresponding record or video from the Events log. That means the log can still help you review a doorbell event, but it does not make a disabled push alert appear on your phone.
If you want to review the visitor after an alert, the Veno Pro’s video notification can provide a route to the live feed or the corresponding event record. Availability and the exact screen can depend on the current app and firmware, so follow the labels shown on your device.
2. Allow Lockin Smart in the active Focus
Apple’s current iPhone path is:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Focus, then choose the profile that is silencing the alert—for example, Do Not Disturb or Sleep.
- Tap Apps (or Choose Apps).
- Select Allow Notifications From.
- Tap Add Apps, choose Lockin Smart, and tap Done.
Repeat this for every Focus profile in which you want Lockin doorbell alerts. Allowing the app in Do Not Disturb does not automatically change the app list for Work or Sleep; each profile has its own notification policy.
If you do not see Lockin Smart in the list, check the ordinary app permission before troubleshooting Focus. Go to Settings → Notifications → Lockin Smart, turn on Allow Notifications, and choose the alert locations you want, such as Lock Screen, Notification Center, or Banners. Then return to the Focus profile and add the app.
3. Check the delivery destination
An allowed notification can still seem to be missing if it is being delivered to a paired Apple Watch. Apple says notifications normally go to either the Apple Watch or the iPhone, not both: when the iPhone is unlocked, the alert goes to the iPhone; when the iPhone is locked or asleep, it can go to the Apple Watch instead, unless the watch is locked.
If you use an Apple Watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone and check My Watch → Notifications for Lockin Smart. Choose Mirror my iPhone or the available custom notification option that fits your routine. Also check whether Share Across Devices is causing a Focus on another Apple device to apply to the phone.
4. Test with the Focus turned on
Do not rely on a previously received alert as proof that the setting is fixed. Run a small, authorized test:
- Turn on the exact Focus profile you changed.
- Confirm that Lockin Smart is still listed under Allow Notifications From.
- Press the Veno Pro doorbell once from outside.
- Check the expected destination: iPhone, Apple Watch, or both only if your configured Apple settings permit it.
- If no alert arrives, open the Lockin Smart app and check the Events log, then confirm the Doorbell category, app permission, network connection, and the active Focus profile.
The test verifies notification delivery; it does not grant anyone access to the lock. Do not unlock the door or change household permissions just to test an alert.
What this setting can—and cannot—do

Do not treat this setup as a Critical Alert entitlement. Apple describes Critical Alerts as available only for supported apps, and Lockin’s current product and manual sources do not establish that Veno Pro doorbell notifications use that entitlement. The supported, ordinary control is the per-Focus app allow list.
