How to Read Smart Lock Specifications Without Mixing Models or Variants

To read a smart-lock spec sheet accurately, match each claim to the exact model, selected option, and applicable manual before using it to make a decision. If two current sources still disagree about the same model and conditions, ask Lockin support to resolve that specific claim. Do not combine the most appealing specifications from different sections into one imagined lock.

For a lock such as Lockin Veno Pro, touchless palm-vein entry can make coming home simpler. Checking which specifications belong to that lock helps you judge whether its capabilities also suit your doorway. Here is how to read smart lock specifications when a listing mixes model names or sits beside several bundle options.

Start with the identity of the lock

Record the full model name on the product page. Veno Pro and Veno Plus are separate models; “Veno” or “video smart lock” is not specific enough to transfer a feature between them. If you already own the lock, compare the model information on its label or packaging with your order record. Ask support if those identities disagree.

Keep the selected option on a separate line. The current Veno Pro page, for example, offers both Veno Pro and Veno Pro + Solar Panel. The added words identify a different offer. They do not, by themselves, establish a change to the lock’s camera, recognition methods, storage, or environmental ratings. Those claims still need evidence for the named lock.

This gives you two useful questions: “What can this model do?” and “What does this selected offer include?” Keep both attached to their own evidence.

A real Pro-versus-Plus attribution problem

On the Veno Plus product page checked September 9, 2026, the model summary lists IP53 and BHMA Grade 3. A lower durability paragraph explicitly names Veno Pro and gives IP65 and BHMA Grade 2.

That lower paragraph does not establish those ratings for Veno Plus merely because it appears on the Plus page. For your notes, attach the summary’s values to Plus and mark the Pro-named passage as an unresolved page inconsistency. If the disputed rating determines whether you buy or install the lock, request confirmation from Lockin before proceeding. An exterior rating also does not describe the protection required for the indoor assembly.

The lesson is to read the model named beside a specification, as well as the page title. For the broader purchase decision, use the Veno Pro and Veno Plus comparison.

Match the manual before comparing details

Open Lockin’s user-manual hub and select the User Manual for the named model. Check the title inside the downloaded document too. A saved filename or a nearby download button is not enough to establish that you have the right guide.

The hub’s Veno Pro and Veno Plus User Manuals are separate documents. Both documents checked for this guide show V1.2, dated March 16, 2026, on their revision page. The same revision number does not make them interchangeable, and it is a document version—not proof of the firmware installed on your lock.

For a disputed setting or connected feature, record the app and firmware versions shown for your own installation when available. Compare instructions for that model and version, or include those details in your support request. Do not assume a missing menu proves that another model’s feature is supported but hidden.

Use a smart lock spec sheet checklist for one disputed claim

Make one record per disagreement. This worksheet keeps a smart lock model variant comparison focused on evidence rather than whichever number sounds better.

Record What to write down Why it matters
Exact claim The disputed value or function, with its units Two differently worded statements may describe different things.
Model and option Full lock name; selected bundle or accessory option separately An offer name and a hardware capability answer different questions.
Source A URL, section, model named in the passage, and date checked A page can contain information about more than one model.
Source B Manual title, revision, page or section; or another current official URL This makes the disagreement specific enough to resolve.
Conditions Which assembly, operating mode, required accessory, platform, or version the claim covers Different conditions can explain an apparent conflict.
Decision Resolved by model or conditions; still needs confirmation; or not relevant to this purchase You can keep evaluating confirmed features without relying on the disputed one.

Then work through the record in order:

  1. Check that both statements concern the same model. If one names Pro and the other Plus, keep the claims separate. Do not move a specification between them.
  2. Check what each statement measures. Preserve units and qualifiers such as “up to.” Match exterior specifications to the exterior assembly and installation requirements to the part they describe.
  3. Check capability versus inclusion. “Supports an accessory” is a compatibility claim. “Includes that accessory” is an offer claim. Resolve the first with model-specific guidance and the second with the selected offer’s package record. The bundle-versus-base-option guide covers the full contents check.
  4. Escalate a remaining like-for-like disagreement. If both sources concern the same model and conditions, neither a more prominent headline nor the larger number settles it. Keep the claim unconfirmed until Lockin clarifies it.

Ask support a question they can resolve

Use Lockin’s FAQ and support resources with the two conflicting passages. A concise request can read:

I am checking [exact model] with [selected option] for use in the United States. The product page at [URL and section] states [claim A]. The [manual title, revision and section / other official source] states [claim B]. I checked both on [date]. Which specification applies to this model and option, and are there any assembly, accessory, app, or firmware conditions? Please point me to the applicable current guidance.

For an installed lock, add the relevant app or firmware version if available. Keep the reply with your specification record. If a requirement essential to your purchase or installation remains unresolved, wait for clarification before relying on it.

Finish with a specification you can use

Knowing how to read smart lock specifications means ending with a clear statement: this named model supports this feature under these conditions, according to this source. A bundle name, shared image, or document revision alone cannot supply all of that information.

Start with the current Veno Pro product page, match its manual, and complete one worksheet for any conflicting claim. Once the uncertainty is resolved, use the confirmed requirements to assess your door and household needs.
