Yes—if your Lockin Veno Solar Palm is already working in the Lockin Smart App, you can add it to a second supported Matter home app without deleting the original pairing. In the second app, choose the option for a previously paired Matter accessory, then use a new Matter setup code supplied by the Lockin Smart App. Keep the lock’s Lockin account and native access methods in place, and test both apps before relying on the new connection.
This is Matter multi-admin commissioning: one lock can be shared with more than one Matter ecosystem. It is different from pairing the lock for the first time.
Before you add the Lockin Matter lock to a second app
Confirm these conditions first:
- The lock is a Lockin Veno Solar Palm and is operating normally in the Lockin Smart App.
- The Lockin Smart App and the second home app are up to date and signed in to the accounts that should manage the home.
- The second app supports Matter locks. The Veno Solar Palm product page lists Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings as compatible platforms; platform behavior can vary.
- Your phone is near the lock and connected to the intended home network during setup.
- You can open the lock’s Matter settings in the Lockin Smart App and keep the new setup code private.
For Apple Home, Apple says a previously paired Matter accessory is selected from Add Accessory → More options. Thread-based accessories may need a Thread-enabled home hub for the best experience. Lockin’s product page likewise identifies a compatible Matter device requirement for Apple Home and SmartThings, while Alexa and Google Home may connect directly on the Veno Solar Palm.
How to add an already-paired Matter lock to a second home app
1. Test the existing Lockin pairing
Lock or unlock once in the Lockin Smart App. Confirm that the Lockin app can still show the lock and that at least one backup method—such as the admin code, a configured PIN, palm-vein access, or the mechanical key—is available.
Do not factory-reset a working lock just because the second app does not see it. A reset can remove the original configuration and access credentials.
2. Open the Veno Solar Palm’s Matter settings
In the Lockin Smart App, open the lock from your device list and follow the current in-app path:
Devices → Veno Solar Palm → Settings → Matter Integration → Bind Matter
Use the option intended to add or share the already-configured lock with another Matter service. Do not start the initial Bluetooth pairing flow unless the app or the current Veno Solar Palm manual specifically directs you to do so for your firmware.
3. Start “add accessory” in the second home app
Open the second app and choose its flow for adding a Matter accessory. Select the option for a device that was previously paired with another app when it appears.
For Apple Home on a supported iPhone or iPad, the current sequence is:
- Open Home and tap Add.
- Tap Add Accessory.
- Tap More options, then select the already-paired Matter accessory.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Other platforms use different labels. Look for previously paired, already set up, share, or add to another service rather than scanning the original first-pairing code by default.
4. Use the new Matter setup code
When the Lockin Smart App provides a pairing or setup code for the second service, enter or scan it in the second home app. Keep the code private and use it only in the intended household account.
Stay in the setup flow until the second app confirms that the lock was added. Avoid switching Wi-Fi networks, closing either app, or moving the phone away from the lock while the controller is being added.
5. Name the lock and confirm the home
Choose the correct home, room, and device name in the second app. A clear name such as “Front Door Lock” helps prevent a family member from controlling the wrong device if more than one lock is present.
6. Test both services before you finish
Run this short handoff test:
| Check | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Lockin Smart App | The original app still shows the lock and can perform its supported control. |
| Second home app | The new service shows the lock and can perform the supported action you intend to use. |
| Physical entry | A person can still enter with a configured native method or key. |
| Network condition | Note which controls work locally and which depend on the platform’s network and controller setup. |
| Access ownership | The second app is connected to the intended home and authorized household members only. |
If the second app can display the lock but cannot perform an action, treat that as a platform or feature limitation—not proof that the original Lockin pairing is broken.
What stays in the Lockin Smart App?
Adding a second Matter service does not replace the Lockin Smart App. Use the Lockin app for the lock’s full setup, settings, access management, and model-specific controls. The Veno Solar Palm product page lists native methods including palm-vein recognition, PIN code, app control, mechanical key, and voice assistant control.
The second home app may expose only the Matter functions supported by that ecosystem. Automations, notifications, remote control, naming, permissions, and controller requirements can differ by platform and software version. Keep the Lockin app and a physical backup method available until you have tested the exact routine your household needs.
If the second app cannot find the lock
- Confirm that the Veno Solar Palm still works in the Lockin Smart App.
- Reopen Matter Integration → Bind Matter and generate or display the current second-service code again.
- Confirm that the second app is using previously paired or equivalent, not only first-time QR scanning.
- Check the platform’s Matter controller or Thread border-router requirement. Apple Home and SmartThings may require a compatible Matter device; the exact requirement depends on the platform and accessory path.
- Keep the phone, lock, and controller on the intended home setup and retry the handoff once the apps are ready.
- Check the current Veno Solar Palm manual and Lockin FAQ before changing firmware or resetting the lock.
If the lock works in Lockin but the second service still fails, remove only the failed connected service through that platform’s Matter management controls if available. Do not remove the accessory from every connected service or from the phone’s Matter keychain unless you intend to rebuild the integrations.
The safe rule for a second Matter controller
Preserve the existing Veno Solar Palm pairing, add the second service through the current Bind Matter flow, and verify both apps plus a native backup entry method. The goal is to add another controller—not to reopen the first pairing window or erase a working lock.
For model-specific setup and current firmware instructions, check the Lockin Veno Solar Palm product page, the Lockin FAQ, and the Lockin user manual. For Apple Home, see Apple’s guide to pairing and managing Matter accessories.
