How Should You Create a Scheduled Guest PIN on a Lockin Smart Lock?

Create a recurring Lockin guest PIN with Periodic Password, choose the correct temporary credential type, and verify the schedule before sharing access.

If you need a Lockin guest to enter during set hours—such as a cleaner on Monday and Wednesday mornings—create a Periodic Password in the Lockin Smart App. For the current Veno Solar Palm/Face manual, the path is Devices → select your lock → Settings → Temporary Password → Periodic Password. Add the visitor’s name, choose a 6–10 digit PIN, set the active days and hours, select Generate, and copy the PIN immediately.

The important condition is that Lockin’s documentation uses different temporary-password types for different visits. A recurring schedule belongs under Periodic Password. A single visit may call for a One-Time Password, while a continuous stay may call for a Duration password. Confirm the exact model and current app labels before sharing access.

What a scheduled guest PIN is for

A scheduled guest PIN is a recurring credential for a visitor who should be able to unlock the door only during specified windows. It fits a cleaner, dog walker, caregiver, or other service provider who visits on a predictable schedule.

It is different from giving someone your Lockin account password or adding them as a home administrator. The Lockin app describes home management as a broad co-management permission, while Manage Access is for trusted users with named credentials. Use the narrowest access type that solves the visitor’s problem.

For the Veno Solar Palm/Face manual, periodic passwords support up to 16 groups, use 6–10 digits, and expire automatically when the schedule ends. The manual also says the code can support anti-peep entry, meaning the visitor may place extra digits before or after the real PIN, subject to the lock’s documented total-entry limit. Do not apply that rule to a one-time PIN: the same manual says one-time passwords do not support anti-peep entry.

How to create a scheduled guest PIN in the Lockin Smart App

Use these steps for the Veno Solar Palm/Face workflow documented in the current Lockin manual:

  1. Open Lockin Smart App and sign in to the account that manages the lock.
  2. Tap Devices and select the correct lock. If you have more than one Lockin lock, check the device name before changing access.
  3. Open Settings, then choose Temporary Password.
  4. Select Periodic Password. This is the scheduled or recurring option in the manual.
  5. Enter a clear assignee name, such as “Cleaning Service” or “Wednesday Dog Walker.” A name makes later review and removal easier.
  6. Create a 6–10 digit PIN according to the app’s current field requirements.
  7. Set the active days and time window. For example, you might set Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Only choose windows the visitor genuinely needs.
  8. Tap Generate.
  9. Copy and share the PIN immediately through a private channel. The manual warns that a generated periodic password cannot be retrieved later from the creation flow. If the original is forgotten, delete it from the Periodic Password list and generate a replacement.

The exact labels can change with app or firmware updates. If your model does not show Periodic Password, stop before creating a different credential and open the matching Lockin user manual for that model.

Choose the right temporary-password type

Visitor need Lockin option to look for Why
Repeated visits on selected days or hours Periodic Password The schedule repeats for a recurring visitor.
One visit that should expire after use One-Time Password The manual describes one-time passwords as valid for one hour and expiring after first use.
A defined stay, such as a short-term rental period Duration The credential remains available for the configured duration and then expires.

The product page for Veno Solar Face also describes one-time, scheduled, and recurring passcodes for guests, cleaners, dog walkers, and similar temporary access. That supports the use case, but it does not mean every Lockin model has identical menus or timing rules. Match the instructions to the model shown in your app.

Check the schedule before you share it

Before relying on a scheduled guest PIN, verify five details:

  • Correct lock: Confirm the selected device is the door the visitor should use.
  • Correct days: Check whether the schedule is weekly and whether the first permitted window is the one you intend.
  • Correct time zone and hours: Compare the app’s displayed time with the visitor’s expected arrival time, especially after travel or daylight-saving changes.
  • Correct code type: Make sure you created a periodic password rather than a one-time or duration password.
  • Backup entry: Keep an authorized backup plan available. Do not test a new credential with the door locked and unattended.

If the visitor is at the door, explain the entry method clearly. For a Veno Solar Palm/Face keypad, the first touch wakes the keyboard; it does not enter the first number. The visitor should then enter the PIN as issued. If you have enabled anti-peep entry for a supported periodic password, explain that the extra digits are optional masking digits around the real PIN—not a replacement for the PIN itself.

Review or remove the guest PIN after the visit pattern changes

When a cleaner stops visiting or a service schedule changes, review the credential rather than leaving it active indefinitely. Open the periodic-password list from the temporary-password settings, identify the named entry, and delete it when it is no longer needed. If you need a revised schedule and the app does not offer a direct edit, delete the old password and generate a new one with the correct days and hours.

For broader access changes, the manual documents Manage Access and a Key Freeze control for temporarily disabling a named user’s credentials without deleting the profile. That is a different workflow from a recurring temporary password. Use it only when the person is represented as a managed user in the app, not as a substitute for every scheduled guest PIN.

You can also review activity in the app’s Events area. The manual says lock-event history can be filtered by date range and event type. Use the log as a check on the access plan, not as a reason to share a permanent administrator credential.

What if the scheduled PIN does not work?

First confirm the model, code type, active day, current time window, and whether the visitor entered the PIN after waking the keypad. Do not keep guessing at the door: wrong-try protection can temporarily restrict password entry.

If the schedule or PIN was created for a Veno Solar Palm/Face lock but the app shows a different flow, use the current Lockin FAQ and the user-manual library for the exact model. A model-specific manual is the deciding source for available credential types, code limits, and anti-peep behavior.

Bottom line

To create a scheduled guest PIN on a Lockin smart lock, open the Lockin Smart App, choose the lock, go to Settings → Temporary Password → Periodic Password, name the visitor, set a 6–10 digit PIN and recurring active hours, generate it, and copy it immediately. Use One-Time Password for a single visit and Duration for a defined stay. Then test the plan safely, review the event history, and delete or replace the credential when the visitor’s access no longer matches the schedule.

For model-specific setup, start with the Lockin Smart App and the Lockin user manuals. The app’s current labels and your exact model should control the final steps.
