If you want to keep receiving Lockin Veno Pro doorbell and access-event alerts but do not want their contents readable on a locked iPhone, leave notifications enabled and change the Lockin Smart app's iPhone preview setting:
- Open Settings on the iPhone.
- Tap Notifications, then select Lockin Smart.
- Leave Allow Notifications turned on.
- Tap Show Previews and choose When Unlocked or Never.
- Trigger one ordinary, authorized Lockin event and check the result while the phone is locked. Unlock the phone and check it again.
Choose When Unlocked if you want the event details to appear after the iPhone recognizes you. Choose Never if the notification should not show its preview content on the iPhone's Lock Screen. The exact visible result depends on what the Lockin Smart app sends in that notification, so verify the real alert instead of assuming it will contain a person's name, a photo, or another specific detail.
Why this keeps Lockin alerts on
The important distinction is between notification delivery and notification preview content. Allow Notifications controls whether the Lockin Smart app can notify the iPhone at all. Show Previews controls when the notification's content is revealed. Turning off the first setting can silence the alert you still need; changing the second is the setting for a delivery-preserving privacy adjustment.
This is useful with the Lockin Veno Pro because its manual describes Rich Notification as the place to select push-notification event types, including doorbell, lock/unlock, door-ajar, and abnormal events. The same manual says that turning off push notifications for an event does not remove the corresponding recording from the Events log. In other words, the app's event selection, iPhone delivery permission, preview visibility, and event history are separate controls.
Check Lockin Smart event selection first
If an alert is missing, hiding the preview is not the first setting to change. In the Lockin Smart app, open the Veno Pro device and look for:
Settings → Rich Notification
Keep the event categories you want enabled, such as doorbell or access-related events. The manual also describes motion, door-ajar, and abnormal-event notifications, but the available categories and wording can vary with the installed model, app version, and firmware. Apply this path to the documented Veno Pro setup; do not assume every Lockin model exposes the same controls.
Then check the iPhone permission:
Settings → Notifications → Lockin Smart → Allow Notifications
Keep it on. If you want a sound or a Lock Screen entry, review the other notification options on that same app page as well. This article's privacy change is specifically Show Previews, not a promise that every alert will have the same sound, banner, image, or text.
Choose the right preview option

Apple documents that preview visibility can be overridden for an individual app. If your iPhone uses a different menu label after an iOS update, open the Lockin Smart entry under Notifications and look for the app-specific preview control. Do not turn off Allow Notifications unless your goal is to stop the alerts.
Test the privacy boundary
After changing Show Previews, perform a controlled check:
- Lock the iPhone and create an ordinary authorized event—for example, have someone press the connected doorbell if that is the event you normally use.
- Observe what appears without unlocking the phone. Check whether only a generic notification appears or whether any text, thumbnail, or other detail remains visible.
- Unlock the iPhone and open or expand the notification. Confirm whether the detail is shown at the stage you expect.
- Repeat for any other event category you rely on, such as a lock/unlock or door-ajar alert.
This test matters because Show Previews is a system-level display rule, while the Lockin Smart app decides which event notification it sends. The setting does not rewrite the event record, remove information already shared with another recipient, or protect details after someone has unlocked the app. It also does not automatically change notifications on an iPad, Apple Watch, or another household member's phone; check each receiving device separately.
If you still see too much—or no alert
If content is still visible on the locked iPhone, confirm that you changed the setting inside the Lockin Smart notification page rather than a general notification setting, then test again with the phone actually locked. Review Lock Screen access and notification display choices on the iPhone if the alert appears in an unexpected place.
If no alert arrives, check Allow Notifications, the Lockin Smart Rich Notification event selection, the lock's connectivity, and the app's current device status. Avoid disabling a needed event just to hide its text: that trades privacy for a missed prompt. If the app path or behavior differs from the current Veno Pro manual, use Lockin's FAQ or user-manual library for the current model and firmware guidance.
