Yes—with a three-message limit. The Lockin Veno Pro welcome home message feature lets you record greetings and assign specific messages to specific family members. The lock plays the assigned greeting when a family member unlocks the door. The current Veno Pro user manual documents up to three messages, so you should not expect a separate saved greeting for every person in a larger household.
For everyday entry, that can be a small personal touch: a familiar voice welcoming someone home or a brief, friendly reminder as they arrive.
Set up your Lockin Veno Pro welcome home message
Start with a Veno Pro already set up in the Lockin Smart app and the intended household users enrolled. Keep your backup key accessible while testing entry changes.
- Choose the lock. Open Lockin Smart, go to Devices, and select your Veno Pro.
- Open the greeting feature. In Settings, choose Welcome Home Message.
- Record a greeting. Use Record for the message you want someone to hear.
- Assign it to the intended person. Use Manage to organize the recordings and associate the appropriate message with the family member.
- Check the result at the door. Ask that person to unlock with their own enrolled credential and listen to the greeting. Repeat for each assignment you make.
The documented path and controls appear in the manual's Welcome Home Message section. It does not provide an unlock-method compatibility table or a minimum app/firmware version for personalized playback. If your screens differ, check the current Veno Pro manual and ask support about your installed versions.
Plan around three messages
Treat three as the feature's documented total message capacity, not three recordings per person. Before recording, decide which individual greetings your household will actually use.
Here are three example recordings you could adapt; the names and wording are illustrative.
| Intended household user | Example greeting | Why it works at the doorway |
|---|---|---|
| Sam | “Welcome back, Sam. Glad you're home!” | Personal and easy to understand while entering. |
| Alex | “Hi, Alex! Take a breath and settle in.” | Warm without announcing a schedule or private information. |
| Jordan | “Welcome home! Please leave muddy shoes by the mat.” | One practical reminder that fits the moment of arrival. |
If four or more people each need a different saved greeting at the same time, the documented capacity does not cover that request. Refresh an existing recording when you want a change, then check its assignment and test it again. Do not plan around extra message slots unless Lockin confirms them for your current software.
Ask each person whether they want their name spoken. A simple welcome can feel personal without including a name, and a message that sounds charming once may become tiring after many arrivals. Keep it brief and easy to change.
Test the person-to-message match
Use a simple checklist after setup:
- Confirm who is testing. Have each intended user try their own enrolled credential—the method they normally use. Do not use one shared household code as proof that different people receive different greetings.
- Listen at a normal arrival. Check whether the message is understandable amid traffic, conversation, or other doorway noise.
- Confirm the pairing. If the wrong greeting plays, compare the selected user and recording in the message controls, then repeat the test.
- Check entry separately. Confirm that the person can unlock as intended, then assess the audio. A missing greeting alone does not establish an access failure.
This is a suggested verification routine, not a claim that every credential or remote-unlock method triggers personalized playback. Test the method your household plans to use.
Keep greetings separate from access and visitor replies
The welcome greeting personalizes an authorized arrival; it does not give someone new access permissions. Manage the person's credentials separately from their message assignment.
A visitor pressing the doorbell uses a different feature: Auto Reply. Veno Pro documents that visitor response separately from Welcome Home Message. Changing one should not be treated as setting up the other. See the Veno Pro manual for the separate settings.
Choose words you are comfortable having someone nearby hear. Avoid door codes, alarm details, school or work schedules, medical information, or announcements that someone is home alone. Use another private channel for information the recipient needs to keep confidential.
If the greeting is missing or silent
First recheck the selected Veno Pro, intended user, and recording assignment. Review the lock's audio settings if sound is the issue, but do not assume an alarm-volume control also controls welcome messages.
If the behavior still differs from what you expected, contact Lockin support through the FAQ page. Include your model, app version, firmware version, test unlock method, and whether the result was silence or the wrong message. Leave credentials and private recordings out of the support description.
For a useful first setup, record one short Lockin Veno Pro welcome home message, assign it, and verify one family member's arrival before adding more. If you are considering the lock, review the Lockin Veno Pro product page alongside the manual to decide whether its entry features and three-message greeting capacity fit your household.
